Not sure how familiar you are with my work, so wanted to put together a page with info about me along with some of my work.
Look forward to chatting tomorrow!
I feel I offer a unique blend of skills that makes me a valuable addition to many different projects, here are a few of them:
An accomplished award winning director - working in all budget levels and formats
Experience in directing name talent (click here for a partial list)
Accomplished, award winning writer with a strong understanding of story and character
20+ years professional editing experience
20+ years network marketing experience
Scrappy outside-the-box solution oriented producer
I never take myself seriously but always take my work very seriously. My goal every time out is to create undeniably good work. I have always cultivated good relationships with talent, both in front of and behind the camera.
These are the four questions I try to make sure I can answer before jumping on a project.
CHARACTER FIRST - Is the project led by a strong protagonist?
CREATE EMOTION - Will this project make people feel something?
STRONG WHY - Why does this project need to be made? And more specifically made by me?
EMBRACE FILM LANGUAGE - Can I fully utilize the magic of film to tell the story?
Here’s a reel of some of my favorite spots that I’ve directed in recent years. Included is my Voice “Super Commercial” that premiered during halftime of Super Bowl LII. It was called out by Yahoo Sports, The Chicago Tribune and Rolling Stone as one of year’s best Super Bowl spots and won a Silver CLIO Award.
Temps was my second feature and although I don’t feel it’s a perfect film, I am extremely proud of the results and the marketing campaign we ran for it.
Despite the film’s ultra-low budget of only $70K, the Temps trailer struck a nerve with audiences and went viral, racking up more than 50 million views to date. Those views turned into sales, and Temps became a chart topping romantic comedy - hitting #1 on iTunes bestseller list in April of 2016 and peaking again in July as a top 5 Indie.
This is a sizzle reel I cut to help our distributor sell our second window.
FUN FACT: The Temps trailer was nominated for a Golden Trailer “Best Indie Trailer” Award
This is a trailer to my first feature, A Big Love Story, a romantic comedy about a guy trying to lose weight to find love. I bought the script off Craigslist for $500 and shot it on the weekends over four months for only $50K.
In the end, it took home seven festival awards, including Newport Beach Film Festival’s Breakout Filmmaker of the Year, Beverly Hills Film Festival’s Audience Choice – Best Feature and the Manhattan Film Festival’s, Best Comedy. Variety called it "unpretentiously well turned," while Hollywood Reporter raved, “it brings fresh life to the overworked romantic comedy genre.” Criterioncast simply called it "an absolute revelation."
